The Purpose of a Humidor
A humidor is indeed a very important device for tobacconists and serious cigar devotees. The basic purpose of a humidor is similar to what the name suggests, to keep the cigars humid. The humidors are not only capable of preserving the original flavor of the cigars, but also bring in delicate changes in the overall flavor of the actual cigar.
Just like every other thing, you should also be careful before you buy a humidor to make sure that you are buying the right product suited to your needs. The lid of a good quality humidor should remain very tight and close totally as you shut the humidor. The tight lid is essential as the function of a humidor is such that it can not allow any external moisture to get inside or vice versa. As the humidor is closed tightly, you can also rest assured that the temperature is maintained according to your will.
It is recommended that you select a humidor that is big enough to accommodate your cigars and still have some empty space left in it. The best types of humidors come equipped with cedar interiors and cedars form the best base for cigars. In fact, cedar bases are ideal not only for storage but for ageing your cigar as well.
