Very accurate and you can calibrate it so you always know your smokes are being stored right.

Even though this most likely is advertised as a cigar humidifier, it easily fits into a guitar case. The only discrepancy I found is that it is advertised as attaching with Velcro while mine is magnetic (there is a stick on plate which mounts to the intended surface, then the hygrometer can be removed from the plate by the magnet). If anyone forgets to order the calibration kit, here is a link with a homemade method to check any hygrometer’s calibration…you might have to copy and paste the link into your browser:

Tested this until against several others, and the hygrometer worked perfectly – didn’t need any calibrating right out of the box. But the temperature reading is off by 3 degrees! If I’m wrong, someone please correct me, but I can’t see a way to calibrate the thermometer part of this unit. I’d give it five stars if the temperature could be reset.

Keeps tobacco fresh and not firewood. Check every 7 days in MS, pretty humid here though.
